Help Save Land in Central New York!
Do you like planning or hosting events? Do you have experience writing grants or building connections with the philanthropic community? Have you been looking for a way to give back to communities in Central New York?
The CNY Land Trust’s Fundraising Committee is seeking people with a passion for conserving nature to volunteer and help our team plan and execute fundraising projects. Members play a critical role in conserving land across the region. We are looking for people with experience in fundraising, marketing, donor cultivation, or sales to scale up our work in Central New York.
CNY Land Trust is a conservation nonprofit with more than $12 million in assets, including 18 nature preserves that are free and open to the public. Funding for our work comes from a variety of sources. They include state and federal grants, national nonprofits, revenue from our Green Heart Gala, annual and seasonal appeals to donors, and support from families and businesses across the region. We employ four full-time staff, two seasonal staff, and design programs that connect people with nature through an operating budget of $600,000. We are excited to continue expanding our team and what we can accomplish with your help!
Volunteer Expectations:
-
Participate in six virtual meetings each year. Meetings are held every other month on the 2nd Monday, from 5:30-6:30pm.
-
Assist in donor prospecting and member cultivation from across your personal and professional networks, in coordination with the Land Trust’s Development Manager.
-
Participate in planning and executing fundraising projects. Tasks can include direct mailings, phone calls, hosting events in your community, connecting with corporate sponsors for our Green Heart Gala, and supporting our Development Manager and Executive Director in cultivating large gifts to build up the Land Trust’s planned giving program and endowment.
-
Bring your energy and enthusiasm to a team that’s planning for growth!
