When you partner with The Central New York Land Trust to help fund projects like these, you join prestigious organizations like Ducks Unlimited, who helped us create and restore 400-acres of wetlands protecting critical habitat for migratory birds in the Atlantic flyway, The Onondaga Environmental Institute, who assisted us with a bridge installation facilitating fish and wildlife passage, and The Onondaga Audubon Society, whom we partner with to monitor blue birds and create nesting habitats. The generous support of businesses and the community is the reason our organization has been able to make such significant impacts and conserve land in Central New York. We look forward to partnering with you to continue this important work.
Our protection of undeveloped land in the Skaneateles Lake Watershed, 9-Mile Creek Watershed, and 8-Mile Creek Lake Ontario Basin using Water Quality Best Management Practices to reduce toxic algae blooms is a critical safeguard for the surrounding municipalities who rely on these natural resources for their drinking water.
Our recent acquisition of 200 acres in the Skaneateles watershed will provide sanctuary to fragile flora and fauna while ensuring the long-term health and stability of this drinking water source.
Watershed Sponsors are our partners in these projects, helping us to take significant and lasting measures to protect our drinking water and the natural habitats of our watersheds.
Beyond the Trail Universal Access Sponsor
Our installation of a new 1,600 foot universal access trail at the Pleasant Valley Preserve will open up this unique natural area to individuals with limited mobility and vision impairments with a sensory trail and interactive braille display, widened trails for wheelchair accessibility, and bird sensory stations for listening to migratory birds.
This accessibility upgrade is planned for other preserve trails and boardwalks in Onondaga and Oswego Counties.
When you become a Universal Access Sponsor you make this important work possible.
Pay it Forward Sponsor
Sponsoring a Pay It Forward table enables your corporation to give back even more. Your table purchase will be given to a nonprofit of your choice so that their hardworking individuals can enjoy a night out and be recognized for their contributions to our community.
Paying it forward is a wonderful way to acknowledge the contributions of individuals who make other people's lives better every day.
Pollinator Meadow Sponsor
Our reclamation of an 11-acre conventionally farmed field to an indigenous grass and wildflower meadow in the Town of Onondaga has created a native pollinator sanctuary with a planned native bee nesting complex in the near future. This project will be duplicated at several more preserves, including in the Town of Spafford, where we are transitioning 15 acres of post-agriculture fields to native grass meadows to promote nesting birds and pollinator species.
By becoming a Pollinator Meadow Sponsor you insure present and future sanctuaries for our native pollinators who make it possible for our food to grow.
