Stakeholder Notification/Public Notice:
The land trust accreditation program recognizes land conservation organizations that meet national quality standards for protecting important natural places and working lands forever. The Central New York Land Trust, Inc. is pleased to announce it is applying for renewal of accreditation. A public comment period is now open.
The Land Trust Accreditation Commission, an independent program of the Land Trust Alliance, conducts an extensive review of each applicant’s policies and programs. “Central New York is home to nearly 800,000 people and dozens of communities, from Cortland County up to Tug Hill,” said Patrick Lynch, Executive Director of the CNY Land Trust. “National accreditation helps make sure every dollar we get is spent in the best way possible. I look forward to seeing what we can do to protect critical lands and waters as our region continues to grow.”
The Commission invites public input and accepts signed, written comments on pending applications. Comments must relate to how The Central New York Land Trust, Inc. complies with national quality standards. These standards address the ethical and technical operation of a land trust.
